Galway to beat
Waterford 3 pt stake @ 10/11 (Stan James, some local bookies)
Galway to score over
22.5 points 2.5 pt stake @ 4/5 (Paddy Power)
We are all over Galway this weekend here at Bear. Following
their 3 point victory over Limerick last weekend, we expect the Tribesman to
lay down a marker for the upcoming championship. Throughout their campaign thus
far, they have scored on average 30 points per game admittedly against some
weaker opposition. They have scored 24 and 22 points against the stronger teams
Limerick and Wexford. We fully expect Canning, Mannion & co. to catch fire
here. They will be disappointed to have missed out on promotion from 1B, they
need to show this weekend that they are a 1A team.
Kerry 0-12 1-22 Galway
Galway 3-31 1-11 Laois
Galway 3-13 1-21 Wexford
Offaly 1-12 6-23 Galway
Limerick 1-18 Galway 0-24
Our confidence in Galway is solidified by Waterfords team
selection. Derek McGrath has hinted in interviews over the past few months that
the league is not high on their priority list. Once relegation fears were
extinguished last Sunday, the pressure is now off. Their team shows 9
changes from last Sunday and features 4 debutants and Galway will name a strong
team. They have conceded over 23 points in their past 2 games. Galway opened at
5/6 to win this in Paddy Powers, they are now 4/11. Shop around, some local
bookies are still offering 10/11. We recommend a 3 pt stake on Galway to win
this (10/11) and to score over 22.5 points (4/5)
